Kek Lok Si Temple: Largest and Finest Temple in Southeast Asia
Built in the year 1891 which is 132 years ago, the Buddhist temple is also an important pilgrimage center for Buddhists from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, and other countries in Southeast Asia.
Kek Lok Temple is located at the foot of the Air Itam mountain in George
Town on Penang Island. It was inspired by Beow Lean, the chief Chan Buddhist monk of the Goddess of Mercy Temple at Pitt Street in 1887.
